The Various Types Of Bad Customers You Can Expect To Come Across As A New Business Owner
When running a new business, you will quickly find out people are in some cases absolutely stark raving mad. From the customer that cries, to the nutter that turns up at your home, you will meet all sorts off weird people. Here are five personal favourites.
Our first problem customer is the know-it-all customer. They are the leading world authority in what you do. Beware this customer, for their knowledge and intelligence would make Einstein turn in his grave. The know-it-all customer will tell you how to do your job, assuming you are utterly incapable and are beneath them. This customer, ironically is the one that is always breaking everything. Mind you, they are never to blame
If you enjoy soap operas, you will enjoy dealing with the melodramatic customer. They will manage to panic at the most insignificant of things. They aren’t malicious, but they are a real pain to deal with. They will never wait all weekend for you to get back to them. Witness a nervous breakdown when things really go wrong. When talking about ‘things going wrong’ this might mean that their services goes offline for thirty seconds. You would think the world had ended from their sobbing down the phone.
You will just love the royalty customer. Given the option, they’d sign their emails in royal ink. This customer will communicate with you, whether it be by email or phone as if they are conducting an official state visit. Watch your words with this customer. You are beneath this customer. Forget your other customers, they don’t count. This is the customer you want to meet down a dark alleyway.
We will introduce the cheap-ass customer shortly, as they share some of the traits of the devious customer. The devious customer spends their days labouring away on your website, checking prices. This customer will always take advantage of special offers and try and switch to that package. They do not value the service you provide, and think you and your competitors are all drastically over priced. They are always late with their bills, and constantly griping about how expensive you are.
Finally, meet the devious customer. Similar to the cheap customer, but with a nasty side. Any situation will be manipulated by the devious customer to their own advantage. They will employ every underhand tactic to get their own way. As with all the above, these customers are generally worth avoiding at all costs! There are many good customers though. Problem customers account for a small minority of people, thankfully!
