Technical Engineer Apprentices Now Wanted
Notgoingtouni.co.uk promotes an array of apprenticeships and vocational learning and has joined up with British Gas to bring you some exciting opportunities.
British Gas has a number of award-winning training academies in the UK and they promise you the ideal start to your career.
Over the course of 18 months, you will learn all there is to know about installing central heating systems, not to mention a host of other domestic appliances. Your training will range from classroom-based learning to on-the-job training with a local, qualified Mentor Engineer. So there will always be someone experienced on hand to answer your questions and give you the support you need. And don’t worry if you don’t live near one of the academies, as they can provide accommodation if you need it.
Once qualified, you’ll be pretty much responsible for running your own day. This means you will need to be really customer focused and self reliant. To help with your personal development, you’ll take part in the British Gas Award programme which is affiliated to the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
With regards to the basics, the lowest number of GCSE’s you will need is four, grade C or above. On completion of the course, you’ll also need to have attained a full UK driving licence. If you haven’t had a chance to learn how to drive already, we’ve partnered with the AA for discounts on lessons.
Previous experience is not necessary, but having a background in a customer facing role will stand you in good stead. Apart from that, we’re looking for quick learners who will be willing to maximise on this great opportunity. So go to notgoingtouni.co.uk and search under plumbing apprenticeships to find out how you can get involved.
Notgoingtouni.co.uk helps young people with their future by showing jobs and training that exist apart from university. There are several British Gas apprenticeships presently available in addition to free career guides and over 300 videos on distance learning, foundation degrees, gap years, voluntary work and advice on getting a sponsored degree.
